Reasons To Worry About None Dare Call It Treason Trump

By Peter Long

Trump is consciously or unconsciously creating a nation that is greatly divided. He practices controversial politics, lacks any real politic experience and cannot seem to be diplomatic when handling international affairs. Even those within his own party appear to be growing tired of his antics. Some might even say that the man lacks couth. The real dangers of none dare call it treason Trump however, are significantly more widespread.

It is the events and ideas that true patriots forget that put people at the greatest amount of risk. This is especially true when it comes to the actual role and duty of the Commander in Chief. While Trump ran on a platform of improving economic conditions, his sole responsibility is to protect and uphold the Constitution.

The creators of this document believed that it was both timeless and error-free and thus, there would not be need for frequent modifications or regular amendments. Because times have changed quite a bit since it was initially pinned and social needs and demographics have changed as well, there has been a need for a few updates. When these amendments are made without the knowledge and consent of the people, however, there are real problems to consider. These changes have the ability to both impact and eliminate the freedoms that define democracy and that the American public holds so dear.

One thing that many patriots appear to have forgotten is that this is a government by the people and for the people. It is not a system that tolerates overlords and dictators. By his very personality, this appears to be what Trump would like to function as if allowed.

There are also checks and balances that are suffering as the course of his presidency and the general complacency of the American public. This is all the more true of the Fourth Estate, which is both hard to define and ubiquitous. This legislative branch is represented by the journalists that cater to the public's general right to know.

Most news readers are far more interested in the lives and times of the Kardashians than they are in actual reporting. As such, ethical reporters are finding it harder to access audiences who actually want to hear the news that they need. A number of media outlets are now known for their puff pieces, entertainment articles and reporting that goes contrary to all the laws of critical though. More importantly, there is a hidden agenda that these opinion shapers often seem to share.

Without the fourth estate, the nation will soon be on its knees. Voters are less and less aware of the behind the scenes issues that are guaranteed to impact them. It is this lack in news reporting that has left the American Constitution in such a vulnerable state. Fortunately, however, there are a number of citizen journalist who continue to speak the truth for all those who would hear it.

You could be curious to know how this all relates back to treason. When the US President fails to uphold the Constitution as his sole, civic duty, this is the most egregious form of treason possible. Unfortunately, this is a mistake that all of the past four Presidents have made as well. In these modern times, and with a veritable showman or snake oil salesman at the help, a disregard for the Constitution is more dangerous than it has ever been before.
