Factors Which Can Influence The Selection Process

By Frank Johnson

Every representative have major responsibility of fulfilling their expectations and undertaking the responsibility of giving them a good choice of life. Selecting the representatives not only valid for the highest post in the nation, but also done for assembly seats and local bodies. The example is the recently concluded NJ assembly election.

Now the general public is mobile they travel far and visits many countries and are very innovative. Their demand is more. They want to establish the systems they see the world around in their country. They want dramatic changes.

They will always try to influence the panels contesting. They will give vote to those who can fulfill this groups demand and lead them to victory. Most pressure groups are based on caste or religion basis. They though minor in number has got the capacity to influence the results. In some countries, the selection will not be a tedious process. Because the head of the state will never come from voting. They will either be head of a party or head of a family.

It is a periodic process held over a particular period. Every elected bodies are stipulated to represent the general for a particular period of time only. After that, the state undergoes another selection process wherein they select the new council and the change of responsibility continues.

It increased trade and policies as other countries tend to isolate the countries which are not democratic. Due to the increased use of social media, government cannot suppress the peoples movement like before. These all are the factors which helped democratic form of governance getting prominence.

Some countries propose and propagate two party system. There would not be any third alternative. The party which wins the maximum votes sits on the treasury benches while the second party becomes the principal opposition.

Almost all the provincial elections and nationwide presidential elections are conducted. It has been done with the interval of four to six years. All the countries who follow a democratic process follow this mode of selection.

So population density can change the calculations and that is the reason the verdict in some cases becomes opposite to the popular expectations. There will always be some undercurrents which will influence the people, but are not visible.

There will be some international observers who will oversee the entire election process and make sure no compulsions are at work and peoples mandate is taken care of. It will allow smooth transition and help the country, not to slip into dictatorship. It might disturb the entire structure and plan on a very large scale.
